Let’s Catch Up…

Rose Bud

There’s nothing better than snuggling up in bed with endless amounts of Easter Egg chocolate and your favourite Disney film, right?! Until this becomes your life day in and day out because you have nothing else to do other than cry with tonsillitis. I haven’t posted for over three weeks because of various different reasons but the main one is the fact that I haven’t even been well enough to join in with Easter festivities let alone turn my laptop on and write a blog post four times a week. The other reason is because I feel like the blogging community has changed. It’s become more competitive and the worst thing is that I am finding myself comparing my blog with others. I want to make my content better. I want to write and create things that you want to read and as a result of this I have found myself not wanting to write anything. However I have come to the realisation that it’s not about whether I should post a certain blog post because everyone else has done something similar, it is about writing what I enjoy talking about whether that be endless amounts of Lush reviews and demos or what I have got up to this week. So I am stripping my blog back to the basics and writing about what I want in the way that I want to write it! With this in mind, shall we catch up now?

First things first – it’s April! I can’t quite get over the fact that we are already a third of the way into 2016! The only exciting thing that I have planned this month is my first ever concert which I am sure I will tell you all about when I go. I am a bit nervous but I will have Edd by my side the whole time which makes it less daunting when thinking about it. What have you got planned this month?

I have been to see Batman vs. Superman and to tell you the truth I wasn’t that impressed. I’ll try not to spoil it for anyone who is planning on seeing it but I felt as though there wasn’t much of a storyline for the first half of the film and the ending wasn’t what I thought it would be either. I actually found Zootropolis and Deadpool more exciting…

Brogan mentioned Disney’s Magic Kingdom in her weekly vlog the other week so I downloaded it and now I am hooked. I am on level 15 already after playing it solidly whilst being stuck in bed with tonsillitis. This brings me nicely onto my next point of Disneyland Paris. Edd and I are currently looking at booking Disneyland Paris for November or January and I am so excited! I have been watching many YouTube videos about it and can’t wait to book it. Have you been to Disneyland Paris before? Any tips and tricks? Please let me know!

On the blog front, I’ve got a whole notebook full of ideas as usual but I am just not feeling them. I feel slightly disconnected at the moment so I am just going to take it day by day. I am still not feeling the best in myself so maybe I should just continue taking it easy and hope that I’ll be back to my usual self soon. As Michelle states in her recent post: “blogging is what you, I an we, make of it”, which is a 100% true. Why should we follow the crowd and right a beauty review about a certain product when you just don’t feel it? Blogging is something that you should be proud of and that’s why I am not going to force any content out that I don’t want to talk about.

I would love to know what you have been getting up to recently. How was your Easter break? Have you got anything planned for April? I might see you Thursday for some more ramblings but we will see!

I definitely know the feeling of being discontent with ideas and the blogging community. But I think the best thing you can do in that situation is take a break! It’s not worth it to produce a ton of content that you don’t like.

    • Thank you so much for your advice! :) xx

  • Aww hope you’re feeling better! Yeah, I’ve actually been feeling a similar way about blogging simply because there’s so much content around that keeps on being produced because it’s popular. But hi, I’m a new follower – and I’m looking forward to seeing some of your new blog post ideas :) x

    • Hey Victoria! Thanks for following and I hope you enjoy my new posts. I think a lot of people are feeling the same about blogging especially with content ideas :) xx

  • I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been ill, I hope you’re feeling better soon! It’s been years and years since I went to Disneyland Paris but I seem to remember that it’s worth getting a Fast Pass if you really want to go on a ride but don’t want to queue :) xx

    • I’m feeling a bit better, my life just seems to be full of appointments and tests at the moment but I think the doctors are closer to finding out what’s wrong. Thank you for your advice on Disneyland Paris :) xx
