What I Got For My Birthday

Last Friday marked my 23rd birthday and as usual, I had a long weekend of celebrations. Who doesn’t have a weekend of celebrations when it’s their birthday?! I love seeing what everyone else has received for their birthday because I am just nosey like that. But I also think it is a really helpful post to turn to when your looking for ideas.

Anyway I thought I would share with you some of the lovely bits I received. I feel extremely lucky to have my family paying for me to learn how to drive which I’m sure I’ll be updating you in the future.

I received a lot of lovely stationary bits from various people this year. I love the ‘daydreamer’ pencils, the notebooks from the Paper Library which is available at Marks & Spencer and the butterfly pen which was from Paperchase. The tapes were such a lovely surprise and I can imagine they will look lovely to stick photos to my wall. My other surprise was the candle which was made in Ullapool. It was made by a social enterprise in the Scottish Highlands who support vulnerable adults in a work environment. I thought that was such a lovely idea and really don’t want to use it because it smells so good!

Edd brought me a lot of lovely treats including books of The Lion King and The Jungle Book and the Monsters Inc. Tsum Tsum’s. How cute is Mike though?! Edd’s sister brought me a cupcake kit that includes sparkling stars which I can’t wait to use. From Edd’s parents, I received a foldaway bag that can be attached to my keys so I don’t keep forgetting to take them in a lovely floral print along with a weekend bag and notebook in the same kind of print. My Aunt brought me some really cute fruit printed trainer socks as a lot of mine have holes in…

What birthday is right without Lush?! None. Edd managed to get his hands on a bottle of Twilight shower gel from the Lush Kitchen which I am so excited about! I also picked up the Big Bang bubble bar, Love Lettuce fresh face mask, Twilight bath bomb and Razzle Dazzle bath oil whilst I was in York. I used them on the Thursday night before my birthday and it smelt amazing! The bath melt made the whole bathroom smell of watermelons; it was honestly like stepping into paradise. I also received Dragon’s Egg and the Experimenter from my Aunt too.

Did you know that Soap & Glory is cruelty free? Neither did I until I checked their FAQ page. It was lovely to have been gifted a miniature set of the Sugar Crush scented products. This used to be my favourite out of the range and I went crazy for it because it smelt so good.

Finally, I received plenty of chocolate which has mostly gone…

There you have it. PS – 23 feels no different than being 22 apart from feeling a lot more stressed out about the need to know what you are doing with the rest of your life. Like the ‘adulting’ adults expect you to actually be an adult now. Fantastic.
