The Smart Casual Trend

In recent months I’ve been trying to experiment with my style, you’ve probably noticed this with a fair few style posts cropping up on my blog every now and again. I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect pair of smart trousers that I could dress up or dress down and thanks to LOTD.co.uk I think I might have just found them. They are so smart but so comfortable to wear and for me, they are an investment in my wardrobe. I worn them to Manchester last week where I done a lot of city walking but I didn’t feel restricted in them at all.

On this particular occasion, I’ve dressed the trousers down with the Topshop X Stranger Things T-Shirt however if I wanted to go for something a bit warmer I would have opted for the cropped, high neck cream jumper which is also from LOTD.co.uk. I decided to pair the outfit with my black and white Converse and my faux leather jacket that I picked up from Primark. However, I do think they are the type of trousers that would look lovely for work or even a night out with some ankle boots and a nice shirt.

These photos were taken on a lovely catch up with Alice where we had a little look round Newcastle and I picked up two necklaces from Lovisa which is a new store that has opened up in Eldon Square. I’m so happy with how these photos turned out! I think I am finally gaining confidence in front of the camera slowly but surely.

After our little photoshoot, we headed to Wagamamas, one of my favourite places to eat. I haven’t been able to try the new vegetarian and vegan menu until now but I am super impressed with the variety of food they have! For starters, we shared a portion of the wok-fried greens and the yasai gyoza. Then for mains, I went for the yasai yaki soba but substituted the mushrooms for tofu and Alice went for the yasai katsu curry from the vegetarian menu. We were too full for puddings but I had a glance before we ordered and definitely want to try one next time I am able to go. It’s so nice to be able to eat somewhere that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty afterwards.

  • Loving the Stranger Things top and how you’ve styled! I ordered the Stranger Things sweatshirt but found the sizing weird and now it’s out of stock, which is a shame x

    • That’s such a shame! They did come out quite big compared to the usual Topshop sizing, you could look into swapping it :) xx
