烘炉的关键点是严格按厂家提供的烘炉曲线缓慢升温，控制炉出口油温在90℃以下，严禁采用大火，以免造成炉体开裂。根据经验一般小型导热油炉的烘炉时间3～4天;大型6～7天。
2.煮油
常将新导热油脱出水分及轻组分的过程称为煮油。煮油的关键点是严格按厂家提供的升温曲线缓慢升温，脱水、排气要彻底才能保证系统的安全稳定运行。
(1) 脱水阶段——油温95～135℃区间
在导热油加热温度由95℃升至135℃的区间，为缓慢升温、脱水排气阶段，控制升温速度在5℃/h以下。当出现排气量大，泵压加大，压力表指针摆动较大，管道振动加速时，必须停止升温，保持恒温状态，必要时可打开炉门减弱燃烧，
待现象减缓，泵出口压力降至0.1MPa再行升温。如此反复几次，才能将水分排净，直到放空管不再有气体排出，压力表指针停止波动即为脱水合格。此时，系统还需再继续运行2～3h，直至完全稳定。
脱水时间长短视系统含水情况而不同，短则十几小时，长则数十日。切不可为缩短脱水时间盲目加快升温过程以免引起“突沸”喷油，造成安全事故。
(2)脱轻组分阶段——油温210～230℃区间
210～230℃的区间为脱出轻组分阶段，控制升温速度10℃/h。脱水过程完成后，以30℃/h升温速度升至210℃，当温度升至210℃时，导热油中所含低沸物即轻组分的挥发，又将出现脱水阶段的现象，处理方法同脱水阶段。脱轻结束后，系统需继续运行4小时，至完全稳定。
脱轻组分过程与导热油的质量有关，不同牌号、不同质量导热油的脱轻过程不同。
(3)上述脱水及脱轻阶段，严禁关闭热油泵。当温度升至200以上时应对设备和整个系统进行一次全面检查，查看各连接部位有否泄露，高位槽(膨胀器)是否保持正常液位，各部位螺栓是否有松动等，发现问题及时处理。
