As you may or may not know, I brought home two new additions to my little family last week. For the past three weeks I have been to see these little balls of fluff right up until I was allowed to take them home. They even have their own Instagram page now! To celebrate, I think it’s time that they have an introduction over on The July Journal. Say hello to Millie and Charlie, my Bichon Frise puppies!
After Sunney past away in August, life just didn’t seem right without a pet in the household. I love dogs and have grown up with them since I was little. Sunney was my best friend, so loyal and understanding. Puppies bring so much joy and love to the family home that I began searching for one. I went to Pets At Home and spoke to one of the shop assistants for some advice on where to start looking for a puppy as it’s very different now compared to thirteen years ago.
I knew I wanted a smaller dog as they are usually a lot easier to train. I discovered the Bichon Frise breed after researching for days on the internet and after seeing Millie and Charlie for the first time and meeting their mum and dad, both family dogs of the breeder, I just knew that they were the right breed for me. They are a cheerful, loving, lively and naturally sociable dog who gets along well with other dogs and pets and adores children. This means they will hopefully get along well with Frank, my sister’s pampered pooch, and her little baby which is currently on the way. I didn’t plan on getting two but it felt right getting both Millie and Charlie because they now have each other to grow up with and play together.
It’s took some getting used to having two little fur balls running round my feet all day but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love watching them explore and play together. As far as toilet training is concerned, let’s just say it is still a working progress but we are getting there slowly. I am sure they are both going to be featured or mentioned a lot on here in the future but for now I will leave you loving the cuteness.
Have you got any pets of your own? Introduce them in the comments below! If you have any training tips or advice for looking after my puppies then please let me know!
