The Sunday Post: A Date At Coast To Coast

Coast To Coast

The MetroCentre is the place to go for all your shopping needs but more recently the new Qube has a handful of restaurants that we weren’t lucky enough to have in the North East until now. Five Guys, Chiquitos, Byron Burger and Thaikhun are just a few new additions however Coast to Coast was the one that I was most excited for. Edd is a huge lover of burgers and I’m a huge fan of pizzas so this was the perfect restaurant for us to taste test the new food the MetroCentre had to offer.

Coast To Coast

Coast to Coast is an American restaurant and bar that has been created by people who have a passion and genuine interest in excellent quality food, good drinks and memorable moments. Not only does it serve delicious food but you can head there for a cracking breakfast to perk you up after a night on the town or celebrate that new job offer in style with a range of sophisticated evening cocktails. The atmosphere is really relaxed and calming even for a busy Thursday evening.

We were both so hungry that we decided to skip the starters and head straight for the main course. I decided to have the Veggie Feast pizza without the beetroot as I knew I would really enjoy it. Edd really struggled to narrow his options down to one choice so he went for the Roadside Slidders – three different mini burgers with a side plate of chips and red slaw. The three burgers were: BBQ Pulled Pork, Chilli Cheese and Buffalo Blue. His particular favourite was the Chilli Cheese burger because he thought it was unusual that it had bacon included in the burger too. We also decided to have a small side of onion rings which turned out to be a meal in itself.

Usually, we decide to have a pudding between us when going out but we just couldn’t choose between the large selection without arguing over it. I went for the Cookie Dough Sundae which had vanilla ice cream and cookie dough chunks in it. They even thrown in some honeycomb pieces too. Although mine tasted divine, it had nothing on the Millionaire’s Waffle which Edd chose to have. The dessert tasted out of this world!

Overall the food was delicious, the atmosphere was so relaxed and calming and our server, Emily, was absolutely fantastic and extremely accommodating. It was such an amazing end to a lovely day with Edd too.

Have you ever visited Coast to Coast? What’s your thoughts on the the new Qube in the MetroCentre? Next on the list is Thaikhun after Amy’s lovely review.
