If you have been a long time reader of my blog, you don’t need me to tell you that I’m a huge Barry M fan. They are such an affordable brand, have a great product range that is available in Superdrug and Boots (especially their nail varnishes) and are cruelty free friendly. While I was at college, I used to spend all my money on their polishes and spend hours creating different designs. Anyway, I popped into my local Superdrug for a lipstick and came out of the shop with some of their newly released products.
I’m going to start with what I originally went in for and that is the lipstick. I have never tried one of the Barry M’s lipsticks so the whole process of picking was rather excited. After much consideration, I went for Everything’s Rosie 164 which is a lovely day time pink. It is such a lovely shade to wear on a daily basis. It is not too drying which I find with other drugstore lipsticks and is quite moisturising on the lips. I haven’t tried it yet but you could add a lipgloss over the top for an evening occasion.
Next up is the Flawless Matte Finish Foundation in Beige. I am forever looking for the ‘perfect cruelty-free foundation’ and as much as I love the others in my collection, it’s just nice to have a change once in a while. Anyone who has read my blog for a while will know that I much prefer a matte face over a dewing, glowy look. Perhaps it’s because my skin is usually combination to oily. I feel like this would be a lovely addition to my makeup collection during the summer months. I’ll report back in the near future with my thoughts.
Everyone knows that as soon as Summer arrives, it’s all about the bronzer. Unfortunately, I’m probably not going abroad this year so I am going to be using bronzer like it’s no tomorrow so I can at least pretend I have been on holiday and tanned. I actually managed to pick up the Afterglow Light Bronzer for free as part of a deal in Superdrug. I like how the bronzer is so subtle that it gives a natural touch of colour on the skin. The pigment is really lovely and lasts most of the day. I have used the product a couple of times and it doesn’t look to over the top with my skin tone either.
Moving onto the nail paint range. The Molten Metals is the first set that caught my eye. Anything glittery/shimmery is always a winner in my book, especially when it comes to nails. It makes your polish last longer, you see where I am coming from?! They were so different to what I was expecting but in a good way. I like how they give you a subtle metallic effect on the nails which aren’t too in your face. I can even imagine you could get away with wearing something like them for work too. I picked up Bronze Bae which is a lovely rose gold and Copper Mine which is a lovely golden shimmer that will look extra lovely with a tan.
Finally I picked up Pink Candy from the Lolly Gloss range. In the bottle, it looks like a lovely fuchsia pink however don’t be fooled. I think this is more like a tint for your nails however when watching one of Barry M’s recent snapchat stories. I am keen to buy a couple more of the shades and create a watercolour nail art effect with them. I found Pink Candy to be extremely glossy and shiny however it didn’t stay that long on my nails before it started to chip away.
That’s everything I have picked up recently. I love all of the new products but my faves are definitely the lipstick as I haven’t worn anything else but this since buying it and the Copper Mine nail paint.
Have you tried any of Barry M’s new polishes yet? What’s your thoughts on what I have picked up? Let me know in the comments below.
