Happy Sunday! I hope you have all had a lovely day/evening. I’m sorry that this is late yet again but to be honest I am quite liking these Sunday evening rambles, I just hope that you lovely lot don’t mind either.
This week, Edd took me on my first surprise date. If you are not aware, Edd has challenged himself to come up with a date idea for us every week. The catch is that I am not aware of this date until an hour or two before the actual date. I am sure this is because he has failed at his new years resolution of getting me on a bike. Anywho, I thought it was a brilliant idea even though it left me questioning all sorts of things all week however Tuesday came and the surprise was ICE SKATING!! I loved every minute of it! I used to love ice skating when I was younger, I used to get all the badges and medals and attend competitions because it made me feel free. I struggled at first but by the end of the session I felt as though I wanted to come back the following week and do it all over again.
Apart from this, not much else has happened this week apart from the usual daily routine of going to work, Slimming World and an hour of swimming. We went to a 50th birthday party last night which was enjoyable and guess what? I didn’t have cake! I was so proud of myself for staying on plan. Actually now that I think about it, Jemma from Dorkface (you probably all know her by now but if you don’t then why!), created my amazing Autumnal header. Do you like it? I love it! There’s also a surprise coming your way after Halloween too.
Next week is Chocolate Week, you can read more info here, so I thought I would share with you some tasty vegan friendly chocolate treats that are suitable for vegans and quite low in syns so it won’t be too bad when it comes to the scales.
First up, Alpro Dark Chocolate yogurts. Not only are they a healthy alternative for a chocolate fix but they taste delicious as a dessert after dinner. They are 5syns for anyone following the Slimming World plan. Another 5syn chocolate treat is the Go Ahead Chocolate & Orange Cookie Bites. Recently been confirmed as vegan friendly these are delicious as a morning snack. I usually take a packet to work so when everyone is raiding the biscuit
tin drawer, I can still have my biscuit fix.
I have recently got round to trying the Nakd Posh Bits. I have only had the Cocoa Raspberry flavour but I am equally excited to try the Cocoa Mandarin and the Cocoa Sea Salt. I absolutely love the Nakd bars but they are so high in syns however a handful of these works out at 3/4 syns which isn’t too bad. Personally, they taste like a healthier version to Quality Street chocolates. Lastly are Sainsbury’s Freefrom Chocolate Buttons. I went through a phase when I first started eating healthier that I would eat a packet of these every night. Don’t worry I am not that bad now but seriously if your not a fan of dark chocolate, I would definitely recommend them. They only work out at 7syns for a packet which I don’t think is too bad. After doing my research, I have found out that any supermarket own brand dairy free buttons work out at 7syns each which is brilliant for all the Slimming Worlders out there.
