Back in July, I wrote about a little Barry M haul and it seemed to go down a treat with you all so I thought I would do a similar sort of thing. I fell into Superdrug the other day when I was completing my Christmas shopping and this happened…
From left to right: Gingerbread, Twinkle Twinkle and Icicle
I’m going to start with the festive nail polishes that I managed to pick up. I love their nail polishes already so it’s no surprise that I loved these ones too. I picked up Twinkle Twinkle, a Superdrug exclusive, which is a lovely rose gold and I am honestly in love! It’s such a different festive, gold shade to what is usually on the shelves around this time of year. Gingerbread and Icicle were both in an exclusive set that you can pick up in Superdrug at the moment when you spend more than £7 on Barry M products. Gingerbread is a chocolatey brown shade with gold shimmer through the formulation whilst Icicle would be a really nice one to put over the top of other shades.
Next up is their Limited Edition Champagne & Dreams Palette which I have eyed up a few times when I have been Christmas shopping. I like how the palette includes a bronzer, two highlighters and four eyeshadows which are a mix of matte and shimmer shades.
I have tried their Afterglow Light Bronzer and it has become a staple in my makeup collection because I love it so much however this is definitely one for the festive season. It has a lovely sparkle to the bronzer which is perfect for any Christmas party look. I have never had tried their eyeshadows either however they are extremely pigmented and can last most of the day or night without rubbing off with the use of a eyeshadow primer.
Although I really like the bronzer and eyeshadows in the palette, it is the highlighters that have stolen my heart. And this is coming from someone who hasn’t even used a highlighter until earlier this year! There is a lovely rose gold and a golden shade to choose from but both are so pigmented. I think what I like about them is that they give the skin a lovely glow which I haven’t seen from other brands that I have tried. They also last most of the day which is an added bonus to the product too.
From left to right: Make A Statement and Dress Rehearsal
Finally, I picked up two of their fairly new Matte Me Up Lip Crayons. Before I went cruelty free, the one lip product that I loved was the Revlon Colorburst Balms however we all know that they test on animals and after trying many different brands, I think I have found a firm favourite.
The Barry M Matte Me Up’s are an affordable alternative that you are guaranteed to have at least one shade that you will love. I picked up Dress Rehearsal which is a lovely dusky pink shade that could be worn day to day and Make A Statement which is a beautiful matte red shade, perfect for this time of year. I like how the red isn’t too overpowering so it feels like I would be able to wear it during the day, not just for an evening occasion. I am quite surprised that I like it as I am not a huge fan of red lipsticks.
The formulation itself is really creamy and moisturising which is brilliant if you suffer from dry lips throughout the winter season. The only negative point I would make is that you do need to keep re-applying the lipstick as the lipstick doesn’t last that long on the lips compared to others I have in my collection.
Have you tried any of Barry M’s new Matte Me Up lipsticks yet? What’s your thoughts on what I have picked up? Let me know in the comments below.
