This time of year is the one for finding and marking your favourite scent. Everyone is burning their favourite scented candles, enjoying the freshness of their Christmas tree whilst snuggling in front of a fire. It’s all about the array of wintery scents that makes you feel all warm and tingly inside. When The Library of Fragrance were kind enough to send me a couple of their festive scents, I knew I had to share them with you.
When I am after a new perfume, I always check out The Library of Fragrance. Their perfumes are always beautifully packaged, last on the skin for the majority of the day, smell amazing despite the odd scents that can be found on their website and most importantly are cruelty free and vegan.
Christmas in New York, at first, was the one scent I was most excited about trying. The scent is rather hard to describe but it smells quite like roasted chestnuts, a burning log fire and quite a warm aroma which is something I didn’t really expect. I paired it with Gingerbread and it smelt amazing. Gingerbread is the classic festive scent that you either love or hate. I think the spice from Gingerbread and the nut scent from Christmas in New York is what makes the pair blend beautifully together.
Blue Spruce is my ultimate favourite and I am now actually on my second bottle because I love it so much. If you are into your fresh, awakening scents then this is the one for you. Personally it smells like the initial Christmas tree scent that you can smell whilst trying to pick your favourite tree at your local garden centre. Although this may not appeal to many of you, it’s definitely worth trying if your looking for a unique winter fragrance. Mark Crames, CEO and chief perfumer at The Library of Fragrance states: “there’s nothing that says ‘Christmas’ like this powerful, enveloping, deep blue-green aroma” and to be honest I couldn’t agree more with him.
Finally, Myrrh is a warm and spicy scent that you can’t help but fall in love with. Although the initial scent is quite spicy, once it has been on the skin for a while it develops a rather sweet aroma that relaxes your mood when your feeling a bit nervous. I have used this one when I have had a date night with Edd or a festive bloggers event as it is a lot more intense than some of the other scents in the collection. Although all of the fragrances are unisex, if you were looking at gifting your dad, brother or boyfriend a scent – this one would be a good choice.
As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, I like how you can layer the scents up with each other to create your very own unique fragrance. As far as I am aware, they are available in Boots and online.
Have you tried any of The Library of Fragrance scents? Let me know which one you like the sound of.
